Momentum Countdown #1: Muskego Circle

When we started dreaming about a new facility for Lakepoint we wanted to make it something that could serve more than our church. We figured out that what the community needed was more space to rent for meetings and events. So we did just that, we designed a church that could also function as a community center and there was born Muskego Circle! We have had numerous Boy Scout Troop meetings, business meetings, the State of the City Address, Zumba classes and more use our space. Momentum Countdown #8: M Catering

Our partnership with M Catering is another great thing that has come from the Momentum Generosity Initiative! This partnership has helped elevate the quality of events that Muskego Circle and Lakepoint put on. What is an event without good food? We are so glad to be working with another Muskego business! Check out this video to hear more about this partnership.

2016 State of The City at Muskego Circle

We had the honor of hosting the 2016 State of the City put on yearly by The Muskego Chamber of Commerce. The auditorium was a buzz as the crowd of nearly 80 leaders and community members gathered to enjoy breakfast prepared by M Catering and hear about the “state” of not only Muskego but the state itself as well as the chamber of commerce. We heard from Mayor Kathy Chiaverotti on issues such as new subdivision development, business coming to town and repairing roadways and State Representative David Craig filled us in on concerns such as our water supply and the John Doe law and where it is at.

There were also several awards that were handed out from the Chamber including volunteer of the year which went to Dennis Herdeman from T.Best Kettle Corn Company, Board Member of the Year Bonnie Johnson and the announcement of the Scholarship recipient Kelby Kallio presented by Education & Mentoring Chair Carol Schlintz.
And the morning wrapped up with a great video put together by the Muskego Norway School District on the up and coming April Referendum. It is so neat to see all the cool stuff going on in our community and to hear how so many of our community members and leader are actively involved and progressing the Muskego Community. Thank you!

Schools Out, Let’s Paint!

Muskego schools had the day off on Monday and we held a canvas art party. The students met at Lakepoint for pizza from Matty’s, then sat down and got creative with a little bit of guidance from the wonderful ladies at Our Arts Desire. Nearly 70 students attended. Check out the amazing work these kids did and keep an eye out for the next “school’s out” activity!

Mom’s Circle

image1Lakepoint kicked off the New Year with Moms Circle on Tuesday, January 5th. Moms  Circle is a time for kids to play while moms socialize and make connections. Our first event was a huge success with over 30 moms and 45 kids! God brought so many wonderful new faces in though everyday relationships. Kids played on our indoor school bus in addition to our learning centers in the 4K/5K room. Coffee and muffins are provided at each gathering. It was a lot of fun had by all while making meaningful connections. Moms circle meets every 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 9:30. It is open to grandparents, nannies, and dads too! We would love to see you there!

Together we are able to save up to 192 lives by collecting 64 blood donations!! AND that could be the blood that saves a LIFE this holiday season. EXCITING!! Not only that we have a few fun facts collected by The Blood Center of Wisconsin….. 75 people came out to donate and only 11 were deferred (low iron, antibiotics etc.) out of those 75, 23 were FIRST TIME donors through the blood center of Wisconsin!!
And in thanking all the donors that came out we offered gift wrapping and childcare.
In addition we had Matty’s Catering with and affordable family meal of their famous pulled pork and homemade potato chips.
